Can't enable GPU acceleration in lightroom, but works well in Photoshop

I have a 980Ti driving a 4K display.  I have followed the "GPU troubleshooting and FAQ" guide. Latest version lightroom and latest version driver. Uninstalled overclocking software etc etc. On top of this, GPU acceleration works like a charm in Photoshop so no problem there. But whatever I try I cannot enable it in lightroom.

This has made my work flow come to a crawl especially because of my high resolution display. I have seen many other posts like this but with no solution. Are we really being left to figure this out with no support from Adobe? Seems like an important issue.

I finally found a fix (somehow missed it on this forum). The latest driver that is supported by Lightroom is 368.81. Anything else on the GPU troubleshooting and FAQ page is just a waste of time. If you have a problem and you are on a new driver just roll back to 368.81 if you can and it should work!
