This example shows what can be done with printing. It's an AIR
application but apart from the PDF creation everything would apply
            to Flex.

I'm also looking for a way to get "outside" of the sandbox. I need to send raw data to a printer. Not a PDF, image, text, or FlexDisplayObject. RAW DATA. Here are my reasons.

We are working on an application that will send (ZPL) commands to a label printer. I'm guessing we will just use the "Generic Text" printer driver. The label printer will then parse the data and print out a label as defined in the ZPL data.

Anyone have any ideas? I'm totally stuck. I think it might be something that needs to be addressed by Adobe.
