Bad quality render with translucent effects ( Volume lights & fog)

I run After effects CC 2017 and had to render 2 large ( 30+ layers) comps with depth of field / fog & volume lights as transparent layers, all based on PNG files rendered in 3Dsmax.. All renders (PNG Sequence lossless) came out in terrible quality, with glitches and heavy noise.

Tried it on several workstations, same result. When I leave the transparent layers off, everything renders just fine. When i rendered similar effects 6 months ago, they also rendered fine...

Any ideas? It seems to always happen with transparent overlays, same with lensflare overlays etc. Once it is only solid footage it all work fine.

Thank for your help

Matthias

Nobody can tell you much without exact info and screenshots. This could be anything from color convcersion issues to problems with PNG I/O. Start by testing with another format liek TIFF.
