No, this is not a fix. I did this once before and did it again for good measure. This does not work.
This seems to be more of a CC issue and not Muse. Specifically, CC and Typekit.
I have a post in Typekit as well, but it still stems from CC. Typekit is not a program. Not sure about preferences Typekit could create, though.
(I've deleted the new thread you created since this one has been moved to the Typekit forum.)
Does Muse show any error message when it crashes? If it does, could you get a screenshot of it?
We'd also like to take a look at a couple of your recent font sync log files to see if there are any clues as to why turning on font sync is causing Muse to crash.
1) turn on font sync
2) launch Muse and confirm that it crashes
3) get the sync log from the day you run the test. On Windows:
a. Open Windows Explorer
b. The log folder is hidden by default, so make sure that hidden folders and files are visible. Under the Organize menu, select Preferences and then the View tab. Choose the "Show hidden files, folders, & drives." option, then click Apply to confirm the changes.
b. Go to C:\Users\(username)\AppData\Local\Temp\CreativeCloud\CoreSync\
where "(username)" is the name of your user folder on your computer.
Send the most recent CoreSync-yyyy-MM-dd.log files in an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. (Please don't send a zip file, as they often get flagged as spam.)
Thank you for your help,
So to go into full detail abut this, it's actually the Google Maps widget placement that crashes Muse.
I don't know that it is truly a Typekit issue as it is to do with the CC app. Ironically I was literally testing as this email came in. I was signed into Muse and signed out of CC.
Placing the widget was fine. The second that I turn on the CC app it crashes.
If I turn sync fonts on at anytime I have the widget placed it crashes.
I will send you what you are asking for though.
Thanks for these details, Ryan. I have your support email as well, and will work on the issue there. I'll update this forum thread when we know more about the problem.
We've opened a bug report with the Muse team to see what's causing this crash & will update the thread here as we learn more.
