The first thing to try would be to sign out of the Creative Cloud Application Manager and then sign back in. If you don't see that an update is available, then you can download the update directly from:
Click on "Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 6" and you will see all of the updates listed. You only need to download the most recent. The one update will update both Lightroom 6 and Lightroom CC.
Thank you for replying. I am hesitant, however, as I'm unclear why the Lightroom 6 download would be the same update as Lightroom CC as they are different payment models and as I understand it some upgrades in CC don't get into the standalone version.
I'm concerned about messing something up on my work computer.

LR 6 (standalone) and LR CC 2015 (subscription) are the same program, with the same install files and same updates.
The difference is just the licensing data on your computer.
LR reads the license data then enables/disables some UI features to make it seem like two different programs.
So none of these solutions has solved the problem. I also tried uninstalling, logging out of CC, shutting down my computer, then reinstalling. Still the 'old' 2015 version with none of the recent updates.
This is incredibly frustrating.
