My light room catalog will not open. I saw post that say to delete the 'lock' file associated to the catalog I want to open. However, when I try to move or delete that file is says:

The Finder can’t complete the operation because some data in “teddycat.lrcat.lock” can’t be read or written.

(Error code -36)

PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME

Close LR if it is running.

Using Finder or Explorer, verify that you have READ and WRITE access to everything in the folder containing your catalog.

The catalog is located on an external hard drive and when I click "get info" on the drive is shows that open to read and write.  Should I be looking somewhere else?

Check the "get info" in the drive and the folder and the actual files.
