question about where to position header/footer in a simple A4 portrait print document relative to the page margins. The page margins for the body text are 2,54 cm top, bottom, left and right. Is there a rule of thumb for WHERE on the page to place the header/footer so that:

The rule of thumb I follow is to place the running heads closer to the image area (text) than to the page edge. If that's too vague, try offsetting the heads about 0.7056 cm (1p8) from the margin and see what you think.
