Must I use tables vs CSS for page layout in Contribute?

Is it necessary to use tables for page layout, rather than CSS? It seems to me that Contribute needs the tables to make editable regions, etc. That's quite a restriction. Is it true in CS3, CS4?

No you can use CSS (divs and layers) for the layout in your website. What you have to do is test your website not only in the most common browsers, but also in Contribute, so your users will have no troubles editing the website. The way Contribute handles CSS is of course not perfect, like most browsers and HTML editors, so you need to be aware of the things you can and can't do.
