CS6 unable to open (crashes) trying to open idml file from InDesign CC2017

I am running Windows 7pro, CS6 64bit suite. I have clients who are using CC2017 so they provide idml files for me. A few months ago i could open them now every time I try to open ID crashes. Any clues?
