You're using the old dot-style for plugin IDs. Switch to the dash-style (cordova-plugin-statusbar) and make sure to use the modern <plugin> tag in your config.xml file.
If you still have problems, it would help to see your config.xml file (minus identifying/private information).
Thank you for the information!
The file I zipped and tried to upload to PhoneGap Build was created with Adobe Robohelp. I have an unsolved issue with Robohelp: whenever I try to create a mobile app and download it to Phonegap Built using the built-in app creation function, Robohelp crashes. Adobe technical support is still looking for the cause of the problem.
That's why I decided to bypass this issue: zip the mobile app file and upload it manually to PhoneGap.
When you say: " Switch to the dash-style (cordova-plugin-statusbar)", how do I make that swith? Do I have to modify the config.xml file manually?
Similarly, what do you mean by "use the modern <plugin> tag in your config.xml file". What is this "modern" plugin? How do I change it? Manually, in the config.xml file?
You see, I'm a rookie at app creation....
I modified the xml file. I now get this error message in PhoGap Build:
plugin unsupported: com.phonegap-plugin-statusbar

I'm not familiar with RoboHelp to offer much assistance there, unfortunately.
Your config.xml should have
<plugin name="cordova-plugin-statusbar" />
There are technically two plugin tags <gap:plugin> and <plugin>. The latter is the one you should use.
