Are apps created in AEMM 32 or 64 bit?

Hello,

Apple has announced the next version of IOS (11) will no longer support 32bit binaries, more information can be found here. In lieu of this can someone please confirm the the state of applications created in AEMM? And if they are the former, what are the plans to address the impending issue?

Many thanks,

José

Hi,

Yes, older apps might have been built on 32-bit and will have to be rebuilt in AEM Mobile and submitted to the appStore.

Cheers.

Hi laxman negi,

Thanks for the reply. So to be clear, apps created today in AEMM are 64bit, which in itself is great. Can the same also be said for apps made older versions of the service? As we have a couple of apps already in the wild and so are wondering if we need to rebuild them?

Cheers,

José

I've been running our AEM mobile app on iOS 11 since it was released and it works great. So yes, it's 64-bit.

Jose,

Regarding apps built with the Digital Publishing Suite (DPS), "Any v32 app created after January 12, 2015 will have 64-bit support."
