Text bounding box going out of sync

    ArunKaza Adobe Employee
      Hi All,

Thanks a lot for all the great help you have been extending to us. While we are working on the fixes, as a temporary workaround solution we have a command script which will correct all such text shifting in a .png document.

      Important Note:
      1. Running this script once on a document will correct all the text bounding boxes which were shifted, at one go. Please note that this correction is for that session only. You can again come across text shifting issue while working. Recommended usage would be to run this script once on a document when it is opened and where major work related to text is done.
      2. Any CS3 text element if present inside a Group will get re-rendered on running this script.
After installing this extension, you can access this script from Commands menu-->Re-sync Text

      Download Extension

This extension can be used to re-sync the text elements and their bounding boxes after opening the .png file before starting to work on it. However, while working further, the issue might recur. Please use this and let us know if it is helping you a bit.

      Thanks,
      Arun

Re-sync Text Bounding Box is a simple Extension which will go through each and every text element present in a png document (be it inside a page or a layer or a state) and re-align its bounding box.

          Important Note on this Extension:

          3. This script will not modify any of the CS3 text elements present in the document.
          4. It will also not touch any text elements containing missing fonts.
Thus there is no need to worry about CS3 text and missing text getting re-rendered unnecessarily on using this Extension.

Thank you for this. it's a nice start, and it does sync the text, but it moves the text to the bounding box and not the bounding box to the text. This essentially knocks all the correctly placed text into the wrong position of the bounding box, requiring repositioning, which causes the sync problem to occur again, that causes me to run your script, that knocks all the correct placed text to the wrong position....

I have modified the script (download script here) such that the text image is not moved and instead bounding boxes are synced back to the images. In most of the cases this will work but inside Group elements, text image still might move slightly. Please note that this the most we can do through scripts.

Download this script and replace it with the one present at:
              Win: "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Fireworks CS4\Configuration\Commands\Re-sync Text\"
              Mac: \Applications\Adobe Fireworks CS4\Configuration\Commands\Re-sync Text\"
Try using it and let us know if this helps.
