    Time code in After Effects

    guestad

I have a split screen comparing performance of two different products with a time code at the bottom. How do I stop the counter at the end of the video segment but leave the images on the screen for 8 to 10 seconds. I have taken a "snapshot" of the time code layer but can't find the folder to which it is saved.

this is not how it works in Ae, only in Premiere the snapshot is a saved image. in Ae you can export a frame by going to composition->save frame as->file.

but if you want to stop the counter, one way to do it is precomp the layer/composition containing the layer with the effect (choose move all attributes) and freeze the frame using right click on the precomp->time->enable time remapping. set a keyframe where you want it to hold and right click on the keyframe -> toggle hold keyframe.
