I highlited text that had saved before today (I can't find a save button anywhere but somehow it saved my work). I had to force quit because the program froze. Now I have lost everything (today and work prior to today). These were notes for an exam in 5 days. How do I retrieve?? How do I save? I use a MacBook Pro.

This is the non-technical Lounge. Which program were you using?

Adobe Digital Editions (ADE) one of several EPUB readers. You can read an EPUB with it, but you can't save.

You can create an EPUB in InDesign and preview it in ADE to get a rough idea of what it looks like.

Are you on Mac or Windows? Do you have an iPad? How did you get the EPUB? Do you still have it?

An EPUB is an E(lectronic) PUB(lication) and is read in an E-Reader. ADE is one of several, and is not necessarily the best. Is the thing you are trying to read an EPUB or a PDF or something else?

You said you have a Mac, so use iBooks, if what you have is an EPUB.

If it is a PDF, use Adobe Acrobat Reader.
