How to keep a swap image toggled with link

    brightbelt Level 1
      Hi,
I'm on FW CS3. Maybe this is easy or obvious to others, but how do you set a swap image to "stay swapped" so that it shows to the user what page/link you're on? I've worked with FW for years but have never learned how to do this.

Here's my navigation: FrankBright.com And you'll see the swap image behavior, but the rollovers snap back. I'm wondering how one sets it so the swap stays while you're on that page.

I appreciate any pointers on this.
      Many Thanks,
      Frank B.

You wouldn't do this in FW anyhow. DW is the place to do it. It's
relatively easy if you are using CSS 'rollovers', but can be done with a bit
of javascript if you are not.

I'm sure there are several ways to do it? In the swap image behavior box (where you select the fame and image file). Right below that you have a radio button for preload images and restore image on mouse out. Click on the restore on mouse out so it is not checked. The image will not be restored till you click into another slice or hotspot.

                Hi,
Back again...one problem with Ben's method... If a user drags the mouse over navigation before deciding what to click (which I do a lot), every image rolls over and nothing swaps back, until you make a selection. Then everything snaps back at once. This kind of looks strange and unusual.

I appreciate Murray's response, and no offense to Murray, but if I knew javascript, I probably wouldn't need to ask this question in the first place. Of course, it's not Murray's job nor anyone else's job in this forum to educate folks on javascript.

I'll look into the javascript if I can get time, but if anyone could point to where I might find a script for this, that'd be awesome.

                Many Thanks, Frank B.

                  You only have to ask.

All this kind of interactivity really needs to be done in Dreamweaver, NOT
IN FIREWORKS. The HTML FW produces is really only suitable for prototyping
                  not for production.

It's not a difficult job to do this in DW.

So I see - and your solution is there, too!
