Many thanks Roei for the speedy response. It is very much appreciated. We'll give those workarounds a try. I see from the threads that there are a lot of other frustrated users out there besides us. What problem was 'jpegimporter' solving exactly? There doesn't seem to be one. I thought the point of upgrades is to improve on what is there and working already, not to streamline to the point where it's solving problems that don't exist.
What problem was 'jpegimporter' solving exactly?
this is from the Ae Team:
"The reason this problem occurs is because After Effects CC 2017 now uses the same JPEG importer (“ImporterJPEG”) as Premiere Pro. There should be no difference in the rendered results, the difference is only in how the importer module code is wrapped; this change is a part of an internal project to reduce code redundancy between applications. The bug is in how the new code is wired into After Effects. The legacy JPEG importer (“JPEG”) is still available, and does not have the bug."
but as I said, this issue is supposed to be fixed for 14.1 so if you are all updated (always a good idea to be using the most recent update of each release), you should not experience this issue at all.
Sorry for this preview and rendering issue. Did you ever find a solution? Please let us know if our experts’ advice helped you or if you still need help.
