Opened and loaded up my Lightroom 5.7 for first time in a week or so:

-Previous folder I had been working on came up fine. Even fiddled with a few jpegs in that existing folder: all worked fine.

-Went to Import a new folder and I keep getting a pop up box say: "Adobe Photoshop LIghtroom 64 Bit has stopped working" and I can not continue.

I have restarted my Desktop PC several times with no improvement.

PC is Dell XPS 8300 a few years old. I-7, Very 'clean', powerful and no crap on system.

Windows 7 with all updates.

Just ran a Compatibility Update via Right Click on LR Icon on my screen: under Security, I found the Compatibility option.

Hit Windows 7, Apply, OK...it ran for a split second.

Reopened my LR and it is now Working! Import is available.

No idea why it glitched...thanks for your response and maybe my stumbled upon 'fix' will help others.

Hi Akash, That was the first thing I did, when I tried to Import...

I ran Update then, and just ran it again. Pop up box says: "Your Software is up to date. No updates are available at this time."
