Try recreating your Provisioning Profile. According to the log it appears there are no devices included in the profile.
I have the devices listed in the development provisioning profile-
In creating the distribution profile there does not seem to be a place to add devices
in the edit view in distribution profile I am unable to edit devices
I added a distribution provisioning profile under the radio button "ad hoc" it did let me add devices-
When i scan the qr code with my listed phone device I get a message "Safari cannot open the page because the address is invalid"
What do I try now?
You can't install an ipa signed with a Distribution profile direcly on your device. It is purely for uploading to the App Store.
I don't understand how to get the app to test on my phone- I created the adhoc distribution provisioning profile ( I used the wildcard app id) withe the correct certificate and with the devices listed
When I scan the qr code on phone gap build site (it is a successful build) the app does not install on the device
What should I change?
The log still indicates that you are using a Distribution certificate. If you're trying to run this on your device, you should be using a Development certificate and profile. These are selected when creating in the iOS developer center.
ok - I am still not successful
I used the p12 made from the private key of the development certificate
and I created a new development provisioning profile using the development certificate and the devices listed
Could you explain my current problem?
Confirmed in the log that you are now using a development cert. So now I can only really guess at the failure -- unless you connect your device to a mac with xcode, and have a look at the device log, which will tell you more specifically of the failure.
My guess would be that your provisioning profile does not include the device you are trying to test on.
I never could get the qr code to work ( I have not used x-code so I don't know how to access the device log)- I double-checked the device input- all of the numbers were correct-
However, I was able to get the app to download to my device (phone 5S) by going to the phonegap website in Safari (on my phone) and downloading the app from there- Surprised me! Will this downloaded app give me accuracy of the ultimate uploaded app?
Yes, it will be be the same as your distributable app. The only difference is signing it with a distribution cert vs development cert.
If you are able to navigate to the app in safari and install, but not through your QR scanner app, then it is likely your QR scanner app didn't know how to interpret the ios remote plist url.
This one scans successfully:
