Hello. I'm not sure if this question is suitable for Security or for Instal.

In any case, this afternoon I received a popup saying that my computer contained non-genuine adobe software. I was a little confused because all of the software on my computer was bought legitimately. I clicked on the link for more info.

Indeed, the bought software passed the legitimacy test. The problem is with Adobe Acrobat X. There are two serial numbers. One 24-digit serial number that is treated as legitimate. Then the other is a 23-digit serial number and that is checked at "Tampered Software".

I remember a Techy telling me once that Adobe acrobat and Flash player have a history of having phony-updates. I wonder if I accidentally clicked on a fake update popup... Hopefully there's no malware on my Mac. I tried uninstalling Adobe Acrobat X Pro but the uninstaller file cannot be found.

What should I do? How do I remove the "Tampered Software" Adobe Acrobat? I have a Macbook Pro.

trash your acrobat if there's no uninstaller.

reinstall and activate with your 24 digit serial number.
