Progress bar no longer displayed on Mac

The recent GPU speed increases on the Mac are wonderful.

But I've noticed that in most cases, my progress bars no longer appear.

Instead, InDesign just hangs until the script is done running.

While it's probably objectively faster, it seems slower from a user standpoint because there's no feedback (and no way to know that InDesign isn't frozen).

So far, I've tested the following settings (with no luck):

app.scriptPreferences.enableRedraw = true;

app.gpuPerformancePreferences.enableGpuPerformance = false;

Has anyone found a fix to this issue?

Thanks in advance.
