Can someone please help me?

I've just started using Photoshop CC 2017.  Until now I've been on CS4.

I like to open a number of files, re name then, then minimise to the bottom of the screen.  When they are all named I go through them one at a time, do my work on them, save and close them.

Trouble is now, when I minimise them they just disappear, does anyone know a nice easy simple way to fix this, It's driving me mad!

You can see all open files by looking at the bottom of the Window menu.

I don't know about Macs, but in Windows, Photoshop will put every open file in its ow icon in the Taskbar, like so:

I just noticed that the open docs only show up on the Taskbar if they are set to Float in Windows; if they are in tabs or tiles, they do not.
