I use for one year Lightroom CC on a rental computer, now I like to use the catalog from CC 2015 on my own PC where is a "old version" (Lightroom 5) installed. If I try to open the catalog there is a error Message because it was created by a new version. I try to figure out if there is a chance to export the catalog to old version because I know the workaround from other Adobe Products but I couldn't find that option.
Can anyone help me to solve this issue?
PC: MacBook Pro
OS: OS X 10.11.6
Short answer: you can't use the LR CC catalog in LR 5.
Long answer: you could purchase LR 6, in the United States the upgrade purchase is $79 since you own an earlier version of Lightroom, and then you can use your LR CC catalog.
Even longer answer: you could write all metadata to XMP for all photos using the LR CC catalog; then import all the photos into your LR 5 catalog; any edits that are recognized by LR 5 will be transferred this way, keywords, titles, captions, GPS locations, etc. will be transferred, but collections, virtual copies, pick flags and a few other things will not be copied this way.
Thank you so much, it works! I downloaded the LR 6 version and now I can use the CC Catalog.
