Something like this (may need a bit of tweaking)
I suppose that routine would more accurately be called WarpImage() as the image doesn't need to be text for it to work.

That was just what I was looking for.
Credit goes to fazstp for writing the warping function.
BTW, there was at least one bug in the slider control behaviors I wrote
(and poorly tested) that was not apparent because the controls all had a
starting value of 0. I *think* I fixed that.
The other limitation of them is that if the range between the min value
and max value is more that the width of the line, not all values can be
selected with the slider (some values get skipped over as you move it).
I was wondering if anyone knows of an algorithm that works better?
