You should not use that button and you should see the actual SEO components above the more options header. Clicking that shows the meta description and title fields.

Thanks Liam ... I have just done with yourdomain/utilities/seosettings.aspx and it seemed to work well for the SEO information.
Though, how would I access the other code found when I look at view page source (from Chrome)? This show extra lines of code not found with the page editor.

I do not know what you mean.
If you add values BC injects the code into the html of the page. If you go into code view, develop tab (if you have it) and access the page OR access the page via FTP then you will see the title, description and other html for that page and can edit it.
Anything else on the rendered page on the site comes from the template, content holders, includes if they are used and so on.
