When you have a non-functioning computer and can't deactivate a serial number
BE SURE TO ONLY ASK FOR ACTIVATION SUPPORT TO ADJUST YOUR ACTIVATION COUNT
Adobe ID and registration support (non-CC) http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/service-c1.html
Then you install programs exactly the same way you did the 1st time... put your disc in the drive and enter your serial number when asked
Download & Install instructions https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2003339
-kglad links in reply #1 here https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2296468 may help
-you will need to enter your original serial number during install for non-Cloud programs
An idea that MAY work to install and/or run old programs in Windows 10... works for some, not for others
-RIGHT click the program icon or EXE and select a compatibility mode in the pop up option window
-or Run as Administrator http://forums.adobe.com/thread/969395 to assign FULL Windows permissions may help... says Encore, but sometimes required for ALL Adobe programs (this is NOT the same as using an Administrator account)
-or more on permissions https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2293598
NOTE - Win10 anniversary update version 1607 has caused MAJOR problems with old programs, so the above may not work
they said they do not support CS3 on the chat. not even for that. They sent me back here again to post the question.
Did you do as I said and ONLY ask to have your activation released on your old install?
If your new PC has Win10 you are PROBABLY not going to be able to install CS3... but did you try the steps I posted?
Yes I did. She then asked me for the serial number. I gave it to her. She then said my version was CS3 and could not support it.
I currently have cs3 on windows 10 on another pc. So it should work.
Try again with a different chat agent
No other user in this forum can do ANYTHING with the Adobe serial number registration system... that requires Adobe
The chat agents should have reset your activations for you. Go to chat again and ask for a supervisor.
