Hey Guys, i need help.

I try to import a large  summary of Photos from a external NAS Drive into a catalogue on my imac. the first 7000 Photos needed 18 hours overnight. I think that is not the goal. Do you have any idea, what the problem can be. The one folder have 200000 Photos, that means it takes 30 days.

What size preview are you using.

What is the OS on your computer.

What are the other settings you are using in the import dialog window.

That's about 9.25 seconds per photo, which is slow, but it depends on a lot of things.

Is your network working properly and not going to sleep?

What size in megapixels (do not tell me megabytes) are these original photos? What size previews are you generating?

What is your CPU?

Is any other program active and performing tasks on your computer?

I would also suggest running hard drive speed test.

Is the version i use
