I'm almost certain that it is misidentified, but I want to be sure before I tell my Anti-malware program to ignore it. When I tried to update After Effects. IOBit Malware identifies the file as malware and prevents it from running, causing the following error in installation.

Exit Code: 183

-------------------------------------- Summary --------------------------------------

- 2 fatal error(s), 1 error(s), 1 warnings(s)

FATAL: Error (Code = 183) executing in command 'RunProgramCommand' for package: 'AdobeAfterEffects14AllTrial', version:14.2.0.199

FATAL: Error occurred in install of package (Name: AdobeAfterEffects14AllTrial Version: 14.2.0.199). Error code: '183'

ERROR: CreateProcess failed! Error: 5

WARN: Unable to run program "C:\adobeTemp\ETR6491.tmp\1\support\keyfiles\CustomHook\win\InstallMsi.exe"

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I just need to know if this file is legit.

Thanks

If it's installing via the CC app, it should be safe to allow it.

Upload the file to https://www.virustotal.com/ to check it (or point virus total to the URL you downloaded it from). It's a google-owned anti-virus tool that runs the file against a wide array of online anti-virus providers.

Thanks, but unfortunately this is not working.

1. I don't know the url since the Adobe CC app is being used to download the program.

2. Windows is denying me access (even as administrator) to upload the file.

3. As soon as the installer terminates, the file is deleted.
