Exporting to photoshop - camera raw plug in is not up to date

Hi all,

Recently when I have been exporting an image from lightroom to photoshop a pop up message appears to tell me that the image can't be opened or rendered correctly as the camera raw plug in is out of date or something to that effect. I am then asked to either render using lightroom or just open anyway. The message also advises to apply any updates to the camera raw plug in by using the update option within the help menu in photoshop.

I am a subscriber to the creative cloud apps so they all update themselves and all currently show as up to date including camera raw. Has anyone else experienced this and what's the best thing to do?

This is a known issue, acknowledged by Adobe. The only problem is the version checking logic in Lightroom. The solution is to check the box to don't show again and then click the button to open anyway. Everything will function as it should. This should be fixed in the next update of Lightroom.

Thanks, that clears it up. I have been rendering with lightroom and i'm not sure if it has impacted the quality of my edits as a result as I had an edit that appeared blocky in some parts once uploaded to the web, this has never happened before and I assumed there could be a link with how I was exporting to photoshop.

I question whether rendering in Lightroom would have made that much difference. The only impact that would probably have made is that Lightroom would have created the TIF or PSD file first rather than at the end of the Photoshop session.
