Hello,
Having an issue with Adobe Media Encoder not renaming files I am telling it to transcode/rename when Ingested from Prelude. Both versions -- AME and PL -- are 2017. My operating system is OS X El Capitan (10.11.5).
Below are screenshots of my process.
Here in Prelude I am having it transfer the clip (transcoded to H.264) to my Primary Destination. I am also telling it how to rename the files (circled in red)
I will then hit Ingest to transcode/ingest the single file I have selected.
Below in AME it will transfer to the correct Primary Destination, BUT keeps the original file name, even though it does transcode it to an mp4.
What am I doing wrong? Is this a bug with Media Encoder? Prelude? Is there a setting in either Preferences that I need to select? Is my version of OS X too old?
Thank you.
Nikhil,
Here are the answers you requested. After AME finishes transcoding the input file:
- The file name in the Project panel is correct: "test-1.mp4"
- The name on disk (in the primary destination) is "test-1.mp4"
- I am ingesting an MTS file from a Canon C100 camera -- file name "00001.MTS"
So, it appears that the transcode/renaming does work, however AME is showing the name of the input file it's transcoding, just not what I wanted the output to be renamed to. AME shows the output file name as

Hi WonderHouse,
Thank you for writing.
Please let me know few things
> What is the file name in Project panel after ingest task is completed.
> What is the file name on disk after ingest process.
> Format of media file which you are ingesting.
Thanks
Nikhil

AME shows the output file name as "00001.mp4" when it should be "test-1.mp4" i believe. Not sure if this is a bug or something else. Thanks for helping me figure this out.
