    showEffect and hideEffect in ActionScript?

    JasonMH
In MXML you can specify a showEffect and hideEffect property on controls, for example:

      <mx:Box id="myBox" showEffect="myAnimation" hideEffect="myAnimation" > ... </mx:Box>

However in ActionScript the the showEffect oand hideEffect properties don't seem to exist. I am trying to programatically add controls to a ViewStack, but I can't seem to figure out how to make them animate.

Obviously there's some other approach to this - I've tried looking into states and transition but I can't seem to make sense of it with the ViewStack.

      Thanks for any help.
