    Apple 2012 or Amd 2016

I can't decide which system is best for After Effects.

      One side

Apple Mac Pro "Twelve Core" 2.4 (2012/Westmere) Specs Identifiers: Mid-2012

      32gb ram

      Other side Amd 2016 1800x

      64gb ram

If you were I, which one would you prefer?

Do you think that this Mac is old for After Effects?

Or it is still useful for after effects?

My boss unfortunately know anything about computer. I know Xeon but 2013 mid model like a joke, huh?

      Thank you

The clock speed of the processor matters much more than the number of cores for rendering speed in After Effects.

Having a separate SSD to use for AE's cache makes a big difference in the speed of working with AE.

Some of the effects in the newest releases of After Effects are GPU-accelerated and some very popular third-party tools (like Element, Red Giant Universe, and, the Magic Bullet Suite) render on the GPU, so what GPU do those two machines have?

What other software are you going to be using besides After Effects? For example, Cinema 4D uses system resources entirely differently from how After Effects uses them.
