I've seen this is an issue for a lot of people but none of the solutions I've found seem to work for me yet!
I'm using a Canon 1000D which is producing CR2 files.
I'm trying to import using the trial version of Lightroom (2015.10, Camera Raw 9.10).
I'm using a MacBook Air, oS Sierra.
Whenever I try to import the CR2 images either from camera directly or via desktop first, I get an error stating that "The file cannot be opened by lightroom." Sometimes it doesn't even get this far and just seems to freeze and I have to restart lightroom.
I have also tried using the Adobe DNG converter 220.127.116.118 and this says that "The source folder does not contain any supported camera raw files."
Anyone have any suggestions?!
Some more to try:
- Make sure you have full privileged write access at the target location.
In the Import dialog, open the Destination panel and verify that it is pointing where you expect. (Often times this viewing of the panel solves the problem.)
Using Mac Finder, navigate to the destination folder and verify that it and its parent folder have read and write access for your user account.
