Which exact version of InDesign (including the build) are you using, on which exact operating system?
How did you create these 2 text fields?
How did you format the 2 fields (object/paragraph styles, or individually)?
i'm using "Adobe Indesign CC Release 2017.1 Build 188.8.131.52" on "macOS sierra 10.12.4"
i think the the file is converted from an older version of indesign.
The fields are formatted exactly the same. I even use the same styles and non of them are changed (overwritten ).
the only difference i see is that i can't change the font size from 10 pt (8.33) to 10 pt
TheCrawf is right.
Your text frame showing "10 pt(8.33)" was scaled.
Two things you could do to get your "10 pt(8.33)" text as "real" 10 pt:
1. Drag out a new text frame and copy/paste the text to the new text frame.
2. Select the text frame
Choose Window > Object & Layout > Transform
and do "Clear Transformations" with the Transform panel.
That would remove all scaling. ( Also rotation and shear. )
See the help page:
Also read the section: "Scaling vs resizing objects".
this did the job. thanks
