Im buying a new laptop to edit premier pro and after effects on, Im using HD/4K footage, my budget is around £800 and I want something that is lightweight. Do not want a Dell, quite happy with HPs. Not going to bother with any Macs

I've moved this to the Hardware Forum where the hardware experts hang out.

At that budget, you may have to do a serious compromise. At the very least you want a four-core, eight-thread CPU plus 16 or more GB of RAM for that kind of source material. However, you may have to settle for a lousy GPU or even an integrated IGP, plus a slow (5400 RPM) hard disk only (no SSD), in order to get the laptop system budget to that low of an amount.

If on the other hand you get a decent m.2 SSD plus a decent discrete GPU in that laptop for such a low price point, you may have to settle for a substandard (dual-core or worse) CPU and less than recommended (8GB or less) RAM.

In other words, there is no free lunch.
