I am using Windows 10, Intel Quad-Core I-7, 32 gb ram, Nvidia GTX 745 video card, running on SSD. I open Lightroom, click "import" and nothing happens. I am a long-time user beginning with LR1. I am bewildered and frustrated. How do I fix this?

Import does work if I restart the computer. However, this is a recurring problem.
