    Flash Asset Xtra

I have been working on a project recently and have run into an issue.

It seems as though randomly that I get a projector error that tells me that the is a problem in the flash asset. I can go hours running through the program and never get the error then get it three times in five minutes. There is no commonality of member types on the stage when I get the error.

In the movie,I can have several flash components on the stage at one time. There is always a swf member containing simple movie clips for buttons and a tree component member on the stage. And, sometimes there are simple flash animations members that will be put on stage or a list component member. All the flash members are published out for flash player 7 or earlier.

I have been using the flash asset xtra that came with Director MX2004. With that flash asset error popping up , I decided to update the flash asset xtra for flash player 8. Well that was not a good thing. None of the components worked after that. So I have to go back to the old asset.

These may be a dumb questions but... Why did they remove funtionality from the new flash asset? Why won't it support components any more? Why is it not backwards compatible?

The real question is.. What can cause a error to pop up that says that the error occured in the flash asset?

I think they changed some behavior of
"on click" in combination with "allways pass ..."

i went back to "on mouse up"

Hey I'm having a similar problem with the flash asset.x32 bug in Director.

Our direct project includes a lot of swfs, in two instances before swfs are either loaded or played the projector file will crash and .x32 will be mentioned in the error as the module that crashed.

The oddest thing is, is that we cannot reproduce the crash on the two machines we have been doing the coding on, but when you introduce the game to a new machine it will constantly crash. On all other systems the crashing is pretty sporadic.

Any help, or any clues on what to start looking for in the code would be appreciated!
