If you're using Quicktime, the issue you're seeinge may not be due to a Director
specific problem but with QT 7. On certain computers (Windows), I've experienced
Director crashing or closing as soon as a QT was imported, appeared on stage, or
used in a certain way. I'm happy to tell you that this has been fixed with QT
7.5.5. So, if you don't have the latest 7.5.5 QT Windows update, I'd strongly

Using Director 11. Latest updates installed. Latest Quicktime installed.
When playing the videos with quicktime it runs fine at 30 fps. When running in the projector, after turning off Direct To Stage to get it to display the video, then video runs at about 1 fps, dropping all the unused frames.
The quicktime is 2048x582, motion jpegB. I have used this on a windows projector before and have had no problems. We have two other systems that play this just fine. After testing with every available codec this was the best playing and best looking on the Windows PC. The material is dual monitor stereo images, using the Planar 3D monitor. I have to use Director to use the two monitors as one stage. Flash won't play across two monitors as one stage.
I am thinking that Director 11.5 and H.264 may be a better solution.
Hi, I have the same problem. Getting the message "Adobe Projector has a problem and must close down..." (crashing). I have the following Adobe products. Adobe Premiere CS4, with latest updates. Quick Time, with latest update. Version 7.6.2 (515) 7.6.2 (1324). Adobe Pagemaker 6,0, Adobe Photoshop 6,0.
The crashing comes when I am using Quick Time. I am using XP Pro 2002, Service Pack 3, on an AMD Athlon 64x2 Dual Core processor 3800+, 3 GB Ram.
Any solutions to this?
I finally got this working by turning off Direct to Stage. But the videos played horribly and I went to stills. I do not know what evil lurks in this.
