Comments marked in PDF but not in Comments Pane?

HI there,

My colleague received a marked up PDF from an editor. There are a ton of edits. All of the edits are viewable on the PDF itself... you can see the highlights, the crossed off words, the carrots for inserted text.

However, when you open the comments pane it says "no comments".

Anyone have any ideas?

That usually means that the file was flattened and the comments converted

to static content.
