Please share the screenshot for the problem for more clarity also, you need to relocate the missing images in Lightroom catalog, refer: How to find missing photos in Photoshop Lightroom
Let us know if that helps.
I am having the same issue. Also, in develop mode its like the program has pulled some photos from the group of photos I recently put on the computer and edited them on their own. And what's weird is they look really good and it uses the same methods I do. What the heck is going on? In import mode most of the photos are greyed out and unavailable to click on. When I hover over one with my mouse, it says that the picture has already been imported, but where??? Anyways, I think we are having the same issue.
To find the photos in Lightroom, perform all of these steps in order
- Click on All Photographs on the left hand side of the Library Module (It's under Catalog)
- Turn off all Filters (Ctrl-L once or twice)
- Expand all stacks (Photo->Stacking->Expand All Stacks)
- Search for one of the missing files by file name, using the Lightroom Finder Bar
Once you find the photo, you can do what you want with it, including move it to somewhere else.
dj_paige, you did it! The image is now back in the collection where it is supposed to be. Regarding the steps you suggested: I had already done #1, 2 and 4. But the "Expand all stacks" is something foreign to me. It appears that maybe this is what made the image available again. I need to find out how that command is normally used, because I am a curious guy. I clearly hit some weird combination of keys to have caused the problem in the first place. At any rate, thank you, thank you.
I appreciate Moyit Goyal's suggestion, although the photo was not missing--just the preview image was missing--a different problem. But thank you for your help any way.
I have been in a number of threads where the user has accidentally stacked the photos without realizing it.
