Have you seen the examples towards the bottom of this page?
They show using the dataProvider with an HTTPService, which is similar to using RemoteObject. Yes, the URLs specify an XML file, but that's because we didn't have a database we could hit for the doc examples. (We do now, so I'll try and update those examples with something more dynamic). What you want to do, though, is also take a look at the example data-driven app on aspexamples.adobe.com. That should help you format the data results so that the chart can parse it.

The attached code runs but has this error in Flex builder on these 2 lines
this.masterList.dataProvider = event.result as ArrayCollection;
this.masterList.selectedIndex = this.currentIndex;
"1119: access of possibly undefined property masterlist .........."
The link you provide here still doesn't include an example of how to generate a chart with the results of a remoteObject call. This would be very helpful.
