My sampling tools (Clone Stamp and Healing Brush Tool) have started grabbing an entire layer and moving it around as I try to use them.
Help!
I've already uninstalled and downloaded again with no success.
Any ideas?
Figured it out!
Both the "Show overlay" and "clipped" options have to be clicked.
Thanks for the help everyone!

I'm just guessing here, but it's probably the illusion created by having a large brush with a previous sampled layer as the clone source. Simply Option-click (Mac) or Alt-click (Windows), to sample a different clone source. Make your brush smaller or larger to clone or heal with that source as your brush.

In the Clone Source Panel is »Clipped« checked?
Please post a screenshot with the pertinent Panels visible.

ok, so I guess the real problem is that my "show overlay" show's the entire layer and not just the are sampled.
Any suggestions?

How many pixels wide is that layer (your source) and how many pixels wide is your brush? If the brush is as large in pixels as the source (the layer) then you'll see the entire layer as your brush source.

It does it at any Pixel size brush.
It's not a brush size problem.
I've used the clone stamp for years, and I've never seen it do this.
Any more guesses?

Oh my god! Eternal Warrior, you were almost right. It was the "show overlay" button.
Thanks for the direction!
