While working with a fairly large MXML file I found that an
unclosed quote, like this, <mx:VBox height="> causes the CPU
utilization on my dual core 2.3Ghz machine to rise to about 30-40%
and stay there, making Flex Builder fairly unresponsive. If I close
the quote, it drops back to normal levels.
There's an easy workaround, of course -- close the quote
immediately, and then fill in the value.
I'm using Flex Builder 3 (build 3.0.194161) as a plug-in in
Eclipse 3.3.2 (build id: M20080221-1800).
