Signing a captivate EXE file causes it not to launch

I have an EXE file generated by Captivate.  We are distributing this EXE from our website and want to get rid of "this program could harm your computer" popup.  We already have a code signing certificate so I wanted to just use that.  I can successfully sign the EXE file but then it no longer launches (pointer spins for a bit and then nothing).  Has anyone else ever encountered this?  I don't see how this could cause it to crash seeing as all signing it does is modify the headers of the EXE.

If it matters, I am using an RSA 4096 bit key with SHA256.
