    After Effects - Laptop Question

    GagePlanka

      Hello.

I am getting my first gaming laptop tomorrow..

I am on the move a lot so I decided it would be best for me to get a laptop.

I was wondering (sense I am not super familiar with AE's compatibility or what parts (GPU , CPU, RAM, etc..) would best help me to have a smooth experience.. time with editing videos/effects and rendering them

Here is gaming laptop specs and name:

      MSI GT62VR -087

      GT62VR Domintor 087

      • Windows 10 64 bit

      • Intel® Core™ i7-6700HQ Processor

      • NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1070 8G GDDR5

      • 1TB HDD +256 GB SSD

      • 16 GB DDR4 2400MHz System Memory

(Deleted some of the other stuff, wanted just to focus on this stuff).

Thank you in advance for the answer(s)!

There is no magic button, or in this case "one fits all system". There are too many variables influencing render times and interactivity on any given project. You could create a complex project today that still renders fast because it only uses a certain feature set and a seemingly simple project tomorrow that renders slow as hog because it uses otehr features. That being the case, you can only get a "reasonable" system within your budget and your specs don't look too shabby, not just for AE.
