I was wondering if it is possible to listen for events on a
flash object on the same HTML page? For example, I might have 5
different flex applications on the HTML page and want one of them
to listen to events on the other four. Each of the flex apps would
be loaded using its own object / embed tag.
In Java, there's a getApplets() on the AppletContext class,
but I can't see anything similar in the Flex SDK.
Does anyone know if this is possible, and if so, how?
Perhaps someone with more specific knowledge on this will
speak up, but I do not think it is as simple as "its own instance
of the Flash runtime". I believe this because of experimentation I
did with attempting to offload intensive calculations to a
separate. I do know that Multiple SWFs all share the same "virtual
Still, a large number of running Flex application
simultaneously might create client resource problems.
