I'm new to flex development, and tried to find an answer to a
How do you pass credentials which may be established in a
j2ee web application via, say, JAAS, to an embedded flex
application that is started as an element in one of the screens?
For example, if I use a standard jsp page to perform login, and am
assigned certain credentials through JAAS, how are these forwarded
to an embedded flex element that may be contained in a successful
login response page, so that the flex application is able to
establish its credentials to get access to any data that it should.
I'm sure that this is a very common use case, but am probably
not searching with the right keywords to be able to get the correct
way to do this. Any answers, or pointers to which resources I
should look at will be very much appreciated.
You can use setRemoteCredentials (proxy) or setCridentials
(no proxy) to pass the user name and password. This is used when
you invoke the mx:HTTPService or WebService. If you're required to
pass an additional header string you can also set custom header
values. Header values are not typical and usually setting your
Credentials would be what you're looking for.
