Identifying a button in an itemRenderer

    SiHoop Level 1
I've been using the code below as an ItemRenderer to change the state of buttons in a DataGrid. I use selectedButtons (an ArrayCollection tied to the DataGrid) to create a list containing the unique identifier (uid) of each button in displayed in the DataGrid. By setting selectedButtons.removeAll() I remove all items from the list and the button states are changed.
My problem is that I cannot directly manipulate the buttons. I want to be able to target each button but cannot figure out a unique id for the button. I had hoped that something such as the following would work, but the stored item is a string:
      this.selectedButtons.getItemAt(2).x+=100
Is it possible to identify a unique id for each button that I can use to manipulate the button?
