Flex layout container for runtime 3D menu

      Hi:

      QUESTION:
Which layout container in Flex should I programatically populate with animated Sprites?

QUESTION IN THE FORM OF OTHER QUESTIONS:
Why should I use the canvas layout control? Why not populate Vbox? Why canvas.graphics instead of myCanvas.rawChildren.addChild(mysprite)?

      DETAILS:
In my MXML project, the top half visually is a 3D menu of flying squares with textboxes containing RSS-feed news article titles (instead of a combobox listing). Clicking on one of these menu items places the corresponding feed description into a text box on the bottom half of the visual layout.

I'm developing in Flex3 for the sake of learning it for more complex projects. In this approach I need to combine MXML with custom AS3 classes (menu math and XML reading).
