I have scanned documents at 300 dpi and some at 600 dpi, when I OCR the file some of the files shrink in size.  Does this process take the image back to a 150 dpi or does it stay at 300 or 600 dpi?  Is there a compression factor in the OCR?

As mentioned I scanned documents at 300 & 600 dpi.  When I OCR I use the enhanced scan option and have the system convert image to text.  Not sure what other setting your talking about.

currently my setting are at:

Document Language:  English

Output:  Searchable Image (Exact)

Downsample to: Field is grayed out.

Just noticed that if I switch Output to Editable Text and Images, downsample to field is set at 600 dpi.

This may fix my problem, is that what I need so keep the 600 dpi on my documents?

Searchable Image (Exact) will not modify your scanned images:

Well I used the

Output to Editable Text and Images, downsample to field is set at 600 dpi.

This did reduce my file size from 4.4MB to 1.5MB.  I'm ok with this as long as the file clarity is not compromised.
