You sure? In earlier versions of ID, these were indicated by redlining at the left (for paragraph level overrides) and strikeout (for character level overrides).
They look like XML structure markers to me. Open the text in the Story Editor or the XML Structure sidebar to verify this.
If they are and the view is bothering you, you can switch them off in the View menu. They will still be there and a text cursor will "stall" when you move across them, but at least they won't show up on screen. If you

If they are and the view is bothering you, you can switch them off in the View menu. They will still be there and a text cursor will "stall" when you move across them, but at least they won't show up on screen. If you are absolutely sure you won't be needing them anymore, select all text and choose "Untag" in the XML Tag panel submenu, or delete them from the XML Structure view. (When doing the latter, be careful to not delete the associated text as well.)
